Protecting Hazardous Equipment with Machine Center Safety Guard Rails
Machine centers are one of the most dangerous areas in many factories, plants, and other job sites. With large saws, grinders, break machines, and fast-moving conveyors in your machine center, the potential for accidents is extremely high. It is imperative to keep these pieces of heavy equipment railed off and protected from accidental contact. At TC Safety Supply, we offer several solutions for protecting your machine centers and the employees who work around them.
You can keep your machine centers with temporary guard rails. Our Temporary Guardrail System includes movable bases and guardrails segments in varying lengths. This system is entirely customizable and can be fitted to protect any size or shape machine. If your machine center is in a fixed location and you won’t need to move it or the rails around it, our Permanent Guardrail System is an ideal solution. Like the temporary system, these rails come in three different lengths to cover unique railing needs. These rails are permanently mounted to the floor. All our guard rail solutions are compliant with all current OSHA standards.
Protecting your machine center equipment requires more than just rails: it also requires gates for forklift and other vehicle access. We offer four kinds of gates with our safety guardrail systems. For vehicle-wide access, the rising SentryGuard Cantilever gate comes in both single and double-wide constructions. This solution is ideal for areas at least 12 feet of ceiling, but no swing room on the floor. For areas that have floor space, but lack overhead room, the Swing Gate comes in three widths (4, 5, and 10 feet) and easily opens for forklift access. TC Safety Supply’s Mezzanine Gates are perfect for equipment on a ledge that requires both operator access from the mezzanine level and forklift access from off the edge. The two gates on this system alternate so that only one is open at the same time, preventing a fall hazard. For machine centers that are elevated and require ladder or stair access, the Self Closing Gates provide excellent protection. With grab bars, easy rail attachment, and a gas strut for closing, these gates prevent accidental opening or access to dangerous equipment or ledges.
Protecting your employees who work around machine centers is important. The injuries that usually occur around heavy machinery are a business-owner’s nightmare. This protection requires a balance of OSHA-approved restriction and access. TC Safety Supply offers top-quality guard rail systems that can be custom-fit to any size machine center or other restricted area. We also equip those rails with whatever gate system best meets your needs, whether your machinery requires human or vehicle access and whether it is elevated or at floor level.
