Permanent Guard Rail and Fall Protection Floor Mounts

Single Post Floor Mount: These permanent mounts are designed for use on floors, mezzanines or decks or wherever you need fall protection. The single post floor mounts are usually used at the beginning of a run, at the end of a run, if you are making a turn or if you are just putting up one rail. These mounts can create a trip hazard when the rails are removed. If that is going to be a concern, you may want to see if the flush mount rails or the wrap over edge mount can be used. The single post floor mounts take up very little space and need to be installed at least 2 or more inches away from the floor’s termination edge. The hardware for mounting and instructions are included.

Double Post Floor Mount: These permanent mounts are designed for use on floors, mezzanines or decks or wherever you need safety guard rail protection. The double post floor mounts are usually used to continue a run of safety guard rail. When you are starting a run of safety guard rail, ending a run or making a turn, you will want to use the single post rail mount. These mounts can create a trip hazard when the rails are removed. If that is going to be a concern, you may want to see if the flush mount rails or the wrap over edge mount can be used. The double post floor mounts take up very little space and need to be installed at least 2 or more inches away from the floor’s termination edge. The hardware for mounting and instructions are included.

Box Style Floor Mount: The box style floor mount allows 2” of movement within the box. That makes installation much easier. Also, because of the movement within the box, you can make a small turn with these mounts. Also, if the rails were to become bent over time, they can still fit into the mounts. However, if the structural integrity of the rails are compromised, they must be replaced immediately to adhere to OSHA standards. These mounts can create a trip hazard when the rails are removed. If that is going to be a concern, you may want to see if the flush mount rails or the wrap over edge mount can be used. The box style floor mounts take up very little space and need to be installed at least 2 or more inches away from the floor’s termination edge. Zip Base Floor Mount: The zip base floor mount is great for turning corners and they have a galvanized finish. The rails are held in place by set screws which allow you to turn any angle. These mounts take up the smallest amount of space, and only require 2 bolts to anchor them. The mounts need to be installed at least 2 or more inches away from the floor’s termination edge.
